Designed for commercial printers, in-plant printers, and bindery houses, the Horizon AFC Series floor model folders include advanced set-up automation, including gap settings, using a simple touch screen. 100 different jobs can be stored in memory and recalled in as little as 14 seconds. Precise stepper motors drive end stops and fold plates to the exact position for the desired sheet size and fold style.

This line of computerized cross folders comes in many configurations, such as a 4 or 6 buckle parallel fold. In addition the AFC features an in-line cross folding knife and two additional buckle plates. This eliminates the need for an off-line right angle unit. AFC floor model vacuum feed folders feature 17 preset fold patterns plus advanced set-up automation. It can also be connected to a host computer to take advantage of CIP4 and JDF, a true step into the future of production.

The suction angle can be adjusted for various sheet types and the specially coated fold plate reduces friction with the paper to increase fold accuracy. Maximum sheet size for the AFC-566FKT is 21.9" x 33.4" and a maximum production speed of 40,000 sheet/hr (A4 / letter fold).

The AFC features advanced automation, fast change overs, and a complete range of accessories for flexibility in its application and operation. Accessories for both models include perf, score, slit, strip-trimming, as well as in-line press stacking and banding accessories for reduced bulk, tighter folds, and bundling in variable quantities. The AFC continuous feeder provides a fast make-ready for uninterrupted folding performance on long folding runs.
